There are a few recipe-related feedback posts here, some completed, some in progress/review. Hard to find which one to add this feedback to, so I am creating yet another recipe-related post... :) Also, I think it is important to note that "previous meals" and "custom foods" are not the same as "recipes". On Monday I was preparing a three-dish menu to be consumed by two people over the following few days, in different portion sizes, but not the night of me cooking. And, as I prepared each dish, I kept track of how much of what I put in there, but on paper: Since I wasn't about to eat any of it that day, I couldn't add it as a meal with all those ingredients. So, it is really imperative that there be a "create a recipe for future use" feature. I think this is already suggested elsewhere and probably under review or in progress. But while eating them the next day, I asked myself how I would have entered the portion I was about to eat even if I had such recipe to call up on?... I couldn't possibly "eat" one whole recipe as my meal, with all the ingredients listed, anywhere from 3 to 10, and then adjust each item's amount to guesstimate what is included in the scoop I am putting onto my plate. So, the thought occurred... One of the dishes was mashed parsnip. I know exactly how many gr/oz sliced parsnip I put into the pot to boil. Also, I know how many tbsp/ml/oz/gr olive oil I put in there, how many gr/oz of garlic, how many cups/gr/oz heavy cream, etc. So, the "meal recipe" would have all these, and Levels could than either calculate how many gr/oz the resulting puree is or allow an additional entry of "how much does the final product weigh?". Later, when I put a scoop of that puree on my plate, I'd just weigh my plate before/after that scoop, select the recipe item for my meal, enter my portion's weight, and Levels would know exactly how to scale down the macros of that recipe to the portion I am eating now. And, if I ever were to make that recipe again, I should be able to create a new recipe as a copy of the original recipe, and then modify amounts as well as add/delete ingredients, to experiment with my recipes as I make them over and over again. Even if I made the "exact" same recipe, the weights of items & resulting total weight wouldn't be the same as before. I hope that made sense. This would make the life of any home cook using Levels so much easier, I think.
